Clinical research jobs in India

Due to the swift-pace of medicine industry, the avenue of clinical research jobs in India is widening scope and application. There is a massive proliferation in demand for experts in this field. India is already witnessing a huge potential for career options in this arena. Clinical Research is a scientific field of study where a medicine, prior to its release in market, is tested for its effects, efficacy, hazards and benefits. To check side effects on large-scale usage, studies are conducted at various levels. Clinical Research jobs in India are carried out by pharmaceutical companies in their research and development units or by contract research organizations (CROs) in their behalf, on contractual basis.

The primary educational requirements to enter this industry are B.Sc degree in pharmacy, medicine, life science (botany, zoology, bio-chemistry or genetics) or biotechnology. Various sorts of jobs can be opted viz. CRA (Clinical Research Associate), Biostatistician or CRMs (Clinical Research Managers). Other posts include Clinical Research Coordinator, Business Development Manager, Clinical Research Investigator, and Clinical Data Manager etc. Job prospects are exceedingly bright in this field. One may pursue a masters' degree or a doctorate degree further to get into higher and more lucrative posts such as that of a Project Manager or a Senior Medical Director. A lot of Multinationals are tapping Indian professionals because there is a dearth of technical experts in this industry. In India, this field is growing exponentially and future prospects are way beyond expectation.
